Terms of Use

Last updated: June 5, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of censuseasy.com (the "Site") operated by 7H Ventures LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. Use of the Site

The Site is provided for informational purposes. You may access and use the Site for personal, non-commercial research purposes. You may not:

  • Scrape, crawl, or systematically download content in a manner that places excessive load on our infrastructure
  • Use automated tools to harvest data at scale without prior written permission
  • Represent our summaries or rankings as official Census Bureau data
  • Use the Site in any unlawful manner or in violation of these Terms

2. Intellectual Property

The underlying Census Bureau data displayed on this Site is in the public domain. Our original work, including plain-English summaries, rankings, presentation, design, and software, is the property of 7H Ventures LLC and is protected by copyright. You may share individual statistics and cite CensusEasy as a source, but you may not reproduce substantial portions of our summaries or rankings without permission.

This original work includes the CensusEasy Scores: our proprietary analytical indices, namely the CensusEasy Diversity Score, Affordability Score, Segregation Score, and Gentrification Score. These indices, their underlying scoring methodologies, and their branded names are original works created by 7H Ventures LLC. They are derived from public-domain source data but are not themselves US Census Bureau data and are not in the public domain: the demographic inputs are public, while the methodology and the resulting score values are our own. "CensusEasy" and the names of these indices may not be used to imply official status or endorsement, or to brand a derivative dataset as an official statistic.

3. Data Accuracy and No Professional Advice

We present derivative analyses of public-domain US Census Bureau and Bureau of Labor Statistics data, but we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, currency, or fitness-for-purpose of any figure, summary, ranking, chart, narrative, or commentary on the Site. Source data is collected via survey and full-count enumeration; estimates carry margins of error, processing artifacts, and revisions over time.

Nothing on CensusEasy constitutes legal, financial, tax, investment, real-estate, insurance, lending, immigration, employment, medical, public-health, urban-planning, or policy advice. You must not rely on this site as the sole basis for any decision affecting your property, livelihood, health, business, household, or legal rights. Always verify against the primary source at data.census.gov and consult a qualified professional for advice specific to your situation. You assume all risk for any use of the Site and its content.

4. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, 7H Ventures LLC and its officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Site, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Site shall not exceed fifty dollars ($50).

6. Third-Party Links and Data

The Site may contain links to external websites. We do not endorse, control, or assume responsibility for external sites. CensusEasy is not affiliated with or endorsed by the US Census Bureau, BLS, or any government agency.

7. Data Reuse and Licensing

The demographic figures on the Site are compiled from public-domain data published by the US Census Bureau and the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The downloadable datasets we publish alongside our Studies (for example, the CSV files linked from each study) are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. You are free to copy, modify, and redistribute them for any purpose, including commercially, provided you give appropriate credit to CensusEasy with a link back to the study, and indicate if you made changes. We do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of any dataset and accept no liability for its use.

The same Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) terms apply to the values of the CensusEasy Scores, including the figures shown on our ranking pages and the CSV files downloadable from them. The scoring methodologies and the index names themselves remain our proprietary intellectual property (see Section 2), but you are free to copy, cite, modify, and redistribute the score values for any purpose, including commercially, provided you give appropriate credit to CensusEasy with a link back to the relevant page and indicate if you made changes.

8. Copyright Policy (DMCA)

7H Ventures LLC respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of CensusEasy to do the same. We comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) and will respond to valid notices of alleged copyright infringement.

Repeat Infringer Policy

In accordance with the DMCA and applicable law, 7H Ventures LLC maintains a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts or access of users who are determined to be repeat infringers of copyright.

Note for Rights Holders

CensusEasy primarily presents public-domain US Census Bureau and Bureau of Labor Statistics data together with our own original summaries, rankings, and indices, and does not generally host user-generated content. If you believe factual data displayed on CensusEasy raises a concern, please also review our data reuse terms in Section 7 above, or contact us directly at [email protected].

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
